Finsbury Health Centre, Pine Street EC1 - Islington

Seminal Modern Movement health centre built 1935-8 to the design of Berthold Lubetkin. The building has suffered water ingress from defective roof coverings, and deterioration of windows and architectural detailing. It was made watertight following roof repairs in 2021. A significant phase of works to the front and rear elevations was carried out in 2023, completing in summer 2024. Further phases of works are planned, as funding allows. The freeholder, the NHS, is committed to continued use of the building for healthcare provision.
