West Ham Pumping Station Engine House, Abbey Road E15 - Newham

Engine house, built in 1897, containing original Lilleshall Company beam engines. The building is in part used as a training facility, part place of worship. Some areas are in poor condition, with high level vegetation growth to roofs and rainwater goods and graffiti damaging industrial heritage features. Substantial internal unauthorised works have been carried out in connection with its use as a place of worship. The main engine house remains secure and the beam engines intact. The Local Authority are considering appropriate enforcement action.
