Nonconformist Chapel to the Cemetery, London Road, Coventry - Coventry
This cemetery was designed by Joseph Paxton in 1843 and opened in 1847. The Nonconformist Chapel located at the southern end of the cemetery is part of that design but attributed by the VCH to George Taylor. The Chapel is configured as a Greek temple with a portico entrance and flanking open pavilions but is currently disused and in a vulnerable condition. The Historic Coventry Trust has plans for the cemetery to become part of a Heritage Park and the chapel to be converted for office use. A grant application to Historic England for roof and other fabric repairs was completed in March 2023.
