Outer wall and north west bastion, Weedon Bec - Daventry
Defensive early C19 structure. Part of an extraordinary military complex built during the Napoleonic era. Brickwork is falling away, damaged by vegetation growth, in need of repointing. The whole site was underused for many years and was left in poor condition. It was sold in early 2013 and is now home to various businesses. The owner is considering further development. A condition survey of the most at risk non beneficial elements of the site was carried out with Historic England grant aid. A repair strategy has been formulated; the bastions have been identified as a priority for repair.
