Cornmill at Warwick Bridge, Warwick Bridge, Wetheral - Carlisle
Early C19 water powered corn mill. Significant for its intact machinery and waterwheel (dated 1843). Now in the ownership of Cultura Trust. Historic England provided grant aid towards the most critical repairs, completed in 2017. Funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund enabled further repairs, and the mill is now in use as a heritage centre and is milling flour again. A bakery has been established through a share offer. Now that the mill is in operation, leaks to the headrace have been discovered. The spillway is unrepaired and presents a flash flood risk to the machinery.
