Newhaven Fort; Caponier, Fort Road, Newhaven - Lewes
Caponier of Newhaven Fort. Victorian caponier is in very poor condition in places. Lunette battery was repaired with a Historic England grant by Lewes District Council in 2009. In 2017 National Lottery Heritage Funding was accepted to develop a project for further repairs and interpretation at the fort. An application for the repairs fund is expected to be made.
