Taylor's Bell Foundry (on east side of Cobden Street), Freehold Street, Loughborough - Charnwood

Bell foundry c1859 with late C19 and early C20 additions and alterations. The only historic purpose-built bell foundry in England in use. By 2011 buildings were in poor condition. Historic England grant aided much urgent work including in 2020 with Historic England Heritage Stimulus Funds. The National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a grant to develop a major repair and public access project in 2018 followed by a grant of c 3.5M in 2021 for works. Work commenced in February 2023 and will complete in 2024. Whilst much good work has been done further repairs are necessary.
