Church of St John the Evangelist, Burnley Road, Crawshawbooth, Rawtenstall - Rossendale

Former church, built in 1890-92 by important regional architect H.J. Austin of Austin and Paley. Large sandstone building, a significant feature of the local area. Lofty interior with fine original fittings. The building has suffered from water ingress, severe dry rot and pigeon infestation. Closed for worship in 2012, and deteriorating since. The building's condition is now seeing a more rapid deterioration and increased concerns over erosion of a nearby culvert is putting the church at increased risk
