Priory House, Much Wenlock - Shropshire (UA)
Following the Dissolution of Wenlock Priory in 1540, the site and its buildings were acquired by Thomas Lawley. The Lawleys and their successors occupied the C15 Prior's Lodging and C12 Infirmary which subsequently became known as the 'Abbey House' and has survived as a private residence to this day with few alterations. The roof of the Prior's lodging is covered by Harnage stone slates and requires complete renewal: those slates which covered the Infirmary range were subsequently replaced with plain clay tiles. Investigation works to identify a source of Harnage stone are being progressed.
