Guidance on the Production of World Heritage Property Management Plans
All World Heritage sites are required to have an appropriate management plan as part of their protection and management system.
The management plan sets out the property's significance and outstanding universal value, mechanisms in place for its protection, challenges and opportunities at the site, and an action plan. They are usually designed with a lifetime of 5 to 10 years and are reviewed both following this duration and often at a mid-point during the plan's lifetime.
