Part C: Guidance on Production Details

Guidance on the Production of World Heritage Property Management Plans.

Format

UNESCO requires all management plans to be presented in either English or French. Where associated communities speak another language other than English, best practice suggests the management plan is also produced in this language(s) to promote full and fair participation.

If available online, management plans should follow accessibility best practice. The UK Government has online guidance on publishing accessible documents which should be referred to when designing the plan. If published in HTML, plans should also be downloadable in PDF format, for ease of submission to the World Heritage Centre and upload on the UNESCO website.

Branding

Details regarding branding and use of the World Heritage Emblem are presented in the 'Operational Guidelines', Chapter VIII (paragraphs 258 to 279) and Annex 14, and in the 'Directives concerning the Use of the Name, Acronym, Logo and Internet Domain Names of UNESCO' (Resolution34C/86). These details should be referred to when designing and presenting an approved management plan.
