Chailey Windmill, Founders Hill, Chailey, East Sussex

This windmill was built in 1830 and was formerly known as Founders Hill. The smock mill was re-erected on the present site in 1864 having previously spent 34 years on two other sites. The site is said to be the centre of Sussex. The mill was restored in 1933 after it suffered damage from heavy winds. Although most of her machinery has now gone, the mill houses a rural life museum.
