Singers Hill Synagogue, Blucher Street, Birmingham - Birmingham
Large building constructed in 1856 by Yeoville Thomason, in neo-classical Romanesque style in red bricks with yellow stone dressing. Symmetrical composition to the street elevation with a portico and central tympanum with a rose stained-glass window, all recesses between two symmetrical 2 storey projecting wings. Impressive interior, 7 bays long with balconies behind and a superimposed Gibbs' style order. The Ark is in the vaulted apse. The condition of the roof has deteriorated in parts, leaking onto the interior and some of the flat roofs need replacing.
