Heage Windmill, Dungley Hill, Ripley - Amber Valley

Early C19. Part restored 1971-3 and restored again to working order 1997-2002. The ends of both sheers are suffering from historic wood rot. One sheer also displays signs of decay pockets and localised damage inside the cap. Emergency external sheer repairs were undertaken in 2018. The curb rollers and iron track require modifications. The cap gutter has deteriorated, and there is rainwater ingress. There is adjacent high-level spalling of the stonework, alongside sporadic mortar loss. The Heage Windmill Society and Derbyshire County Council are keen to effect repairs.
