Severn Wharf Building (Premises of Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust), the Wharfage, The Gorge - Telford and Wrekin (UA)

Large former warehouse now Museum of the Gorge on the north bank of the River Severn. Mid C19 of red brick with yellow brick dressings in Gothick style. Castellated parapets with pinnacles and buttresses and pointed arched openings.The four parallel pitches of plain clay tile roof have valleys and parapet gutters that leak. Valley gutters have been overlaid with successive layers of gutter materials that pond and leak. Wall plates below are showing decay with structural implications. An Historic England Repair Grant has developed a solution. Works are due to be carried out over the next year.
