The Harlequin, 21 and 22, Steep Hill - Lincoln

Complex medieval timber-frame building dating from C15 with some C18 and C19 alterations. Architecturally important as the high status structure allows for the topography of the steep hill on which it stands and internally the medieval hall with smoke blackened timbers, carving and crown post roof survive. Unoccupied for several years, originally an inn and last in use as a bookshop. The building has internal propping and there are concerns regarding the ongoing decay of the timber frame.
