Packhorse Bridge about 50 metres west of Lyncombe, Winsford, Somerset Council (UA) - Exmoor (NP)
Packhorse Bridge. C17-C18, possibly earlier. Lias. Dry stone flat bedded rubble; single span, pointed arch; rubble voussoirs; curved abutments; parapet of undressed stone set on end, ramped up to centre. Hump-backed bridge with remains of pebble pathway. A recent condition survey has identified loss or covering of cobble pathway, partial loss of parapet, cracking above the arch and extensive plant growth including ivy and large saplings rooting into fabric. Historic England has met the owners to discuss repairs.
