Harwath Mausoleum, St Thomas Of Canterbury Churchyard SW6 - Hammersmith and Fulham

Neoclassical stone mausoleum dating from 1918 with elaborate exterior and intact interior fittings. It was designed by Arthur Henry Durand FRIBA, architect and interior designer who assisted in the design of the Eiffel Tower and interiors of RMS Titanic and RMS Olympic. It was built by Simon Harwath, a Slovenian immigrant who became a West End hotelier, for his wife Mathilde who helped manage their businesses. The decorative ceiling and plaques are damaged, likely from water ingress through the roof. Further investigation is required to determine an appropriate conservation approach.
