Second World War Heavy Anti-Aircraft (HAA) Battery, 345M East Of Decoy Farm, Mautby - Great Yarmouth

Mautby Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery is a well-preserved example of this type of Second World War defensive installation. It is probably the most complete example in the country of a rare type comprising four square gun emplacements and includes the surviving operations block. The site lies within post-war woodland with semi-mature trees growing within the gun emplacements and on their surrounding earth banks. The walls of parts of the structure exhibit brickwork decay, loss and partial collapse. The corrugated sheet metal roof of one of the buried shelters has partially collapsed.
