Porch to Engine House, Papplewick Pumping Station, Papplewick - Gedling

Engine house built in 1881 by M.O. Tarbotton for Nottingham Corporation Water Department. The timber porch is sited on the east elevation and is approached via balustraded steps. Mansard roof carried on balusters. Renovated in 2004. Significant scarf joints evident to principle posts. Several structural timbers have suffered significant deterioration with some having suffered a considerable loss of section. A Historic England Development grant was awarded in 2022 and Arts Council England awarded a repair grant in early 2023. Work commenced in spring 2024.
