Former Law Courts and County Police Station, Northgate Street, Devizes - Wiltshire (UA)
Law courts and police station, 1835. Wind and weather tight. Interior has been gutted. Several schemes have been granted consent, including residential and nightclub use, but none have been implemented. Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent granted in 2012 for a new residential scheme was renewed 2015 and expired 2018. Urgent works carried out in 2015. Purchase by Wiltshire Historic Buildings Trust completed in 2018 and site is now in ownership of Assize Courts Trust. Emergency work is largely complete. There are proposed plans to carry out conversion for use as a museum.
