Bishop Salmon's Porch, Norwich - Norwich
Early C14 porch to former Hall of Old Bishop's Palace. Two storeys, of Caen stone. Facing stonework, window reveals and buttresses all decaying with periodic losses of stone. The roof covering comprises rubble set on cement and allows excess moisture to enter the medieval vaults below. The owners have implemented a scheme of gutter clearance and minor maintenance but the roof requires a more comprehensive solution to limit the rate of erosion of important medieval stonework/deterioration of the fabric.
