Chimney to Beckton Sewage Works, Jenkins Lane, Beckton E6 - Newham

Chimney dating from 1887 to 1889, designed by Joseph Bazalgette, as part of the improvements to the northern outfall of the London drainage network. The chimney was dismantled, with Listed Building Consent, and is in storage, pending re-erection following completion of tunnelling works. Regular surveys are carried out to review its condition and maintenance works are being undertaken based on these findings. Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent have now been granted for the relocation of the chimney. Works are yet to commence but are anticipated to commence late 2025.
