Silo D, North Woolwich Road, Canning Town E16 - Newham
Grain silo, 1920, built of reinforced concrete. Vegetation threatening the building has been mostly cleared but pigeon ingress is an issue. Planning Permission has been granted for the first phase of development of the Silvertown site. Silo D is envisioned as a landmark building within the new masterplan and discussions are ongoing as to how the building might be re-used. Works are required to maintain it while these future uses are explored. Further investigative surveys are being commissioned to determine a repair strategy.
