Dukes Head public house, 593, Barking Road, East Ham E6 - Newham
Impressive corner public house dating from 1900. The ground and first floor function rooms are being used for weddings and parties, and currently a place of worship. The flats on the upper floors are occupied. Restoration works were undertaken following fire damage. There is some unauthorised signage, and repairs needed to the cornice and string courses. Planning consents were secured in spring 2021 for conversion and extension for residential and community uses. Works are likely to commence imminently after determination of Approval of Detail applications, being assessed as of May 2024.
