Odeon Cinema, Holloway Road N7 - Islington
Cinema, built as the Gaumont 1937-8, architect C Howard Crane of Chicago. The cinema had been in poor general condition, with cracking and damage to faience decoration. Inappropriate modern shop fronts in poor condition have undermined the design aesthetic. However, major upgrading works are complete on the cinema itself, with the faience and integrated shops still requiring works.
