Church Of All Saints And Martyrs, Langley - Rochdale
Church by Albert Walker of Leach, Rhodes and Walker built 1963 in post-war international style with a strong emphasis on flexible worship and used by a newly formed overspill housing estate community. Contains nationally renowned sculpture of the Langley Cross by Geoffrey Clarke. Huge west end baptistery window and impressive open nave. Side chapel, memorial chapel and church hall social spaces. Storm damage has resulted in the loss of the spirelet and steel corrosion is leading to concrete loss. Water ingress is widespread across the membrane roof and damage is accelerating.
