Aston Hall, Aston, Birmingham, West Midlands
The exterior of Aston Hall. Aston Hall was constructed by Sir Thomas Holte between 1618 and 1635 and is a major early Jacobean house. The house was in the same family until the early 19th century when it was sold to a firm of Warwick Bankers in 1818. In 1856 it was sold to a private company who passed it on to the Birmingham Corporation in 1864. It is now in the care of the Museum and Art Gallery Department.
