Belgian Munition Works, Richmond Upon Thames, Greater London

Men, women and boys at work in the Belgian Munition Works. During the First World War Belgian engineer Charles Pelabon established the Pelabon Works in Clevedon Road. It was a munitions factory employing Belgian refugees to manufacture hand grenades and artillery shells. This photograph is one of a series taken for A F Varley.
