Boat Race, River Thames, London

The annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race takes place on the River Thames in London. A paddle steamer provides a grandstand at the start at Putney and crowds have gathered on the bank. Here the umpire raises the starting flag and the crews are at the ready.
