Bolsover Castle, Old Bolsover, Derbyshire

This images is titled '' North East prospect of Bolsover Castle in the in the county of Derby'' by Samuel and Nathaniel Buck. They were brothers who, in 1724, set out around England to make prints of 'antiquities'. Construction of the castle began in 1612 on the site of an earlier castle. The overall design was created to evoke the chivalrous age of the Middle Ages. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
