Colchester Castle, Colchester, Essex

The interior of Colchester Castle keep, showing it without a roof. The Norman keep was built from the 1080s onwards. It measures 46 x 34 metres and was orginally four storeys high. The castle itself was slowly demolished from the 17th century onwards.
