Dr Johnson's House, Gough Square, City of London

A fine example of a substantial late 17th century house in the City of London, of particular interest for having a remarkably well-preserved interior. It was in this house that Samuel Johnson compiled his Dictionary. The connection with Johnson's black servant, Francis Barber, adds to the historic interest of the house.
