Engine House, Mangotsfield, South Gloucestershire

These are the remains of an engine house that was part of the Kingswood Coalfield. It was built in 1881. By 1891 the mine had been abandoned due to a lack of money. It is of importance as a rare example of the above ground buildings associated with the once extensive coalfield.
