Fontmell Parva House, Fontmell Parva, Dorset
Fontmell Parva House stands in a park north of the church. The original house dates from around 1665. It was probably built by Edward St. Loe of Knighton, who was buried in Child Okeford in 1686. It remained with his descendants until 1864 when it was bought by the Bower family. They had two wings added, one on either side of the house. They were designed by George Evans of Wimborne. The original facade is a nice example of Restoration architecture. The original ground floor rooms contain 18th century panelling, partly of mahogany.
