Former Chalet at Butlins, Sea Bank, Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire

This is the last remaining chalet of the original pre-war holiday camp built by Sir William Butlin. It was the first holiday camp in Britain. It opened at Easter in 1936 for 500 campers. They came for a week's holiday and paid £2.10s. a head. The camp was also used by the Royal Navy as a recruit training establishment, HMS Royal Arthur, during the 1939-45 war.
