Former Workhouse, Collett Road, Ware, Hertfordshire

This building was originally a workhouse of the Ware Poor Law Institution. It was built in 1839-40. The Poor Law Commissioners authorized an expenditure of up to £600 on the land and £6,400 on a building. It was to accommodate 300 inmates and was to be completed within twelve months. It was designed by Brown & Herman of London.
