Framlingham Castle, Framlingham, Suffolk

Framlingham Castle was built at the end of the 12th century/beginning of the 13th century by Roger Bigod, Earl of Norfolk. It is almost certainly on the site of an earlier, probably motte and bailey, castle built sometime after 1086. This aerial photograph shows the layout of the castle. The Castle is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
