Gasometer in Windsor Bridge Road, Bath, Bath and North East Somerset

Gasometers (actually gas holders)were once prominent features in the townscape. They were used to hold gas that made been produced, usually by burning coal. With the discovery of natural gas the need to 'produce' gas declined and gasometers have become redundant, many have been demolished.
