This building is dated 1782. A Central 1st floor plaque reads: "By the Charity of George Fentham This School was erected in the year 1782 Under the care of Henry Venour, Joseph Crockett, William Osborn, Henry Chinn his Trustees." Before state education many schools were paid for by charities or wealthy individuals.
