Granary, Wyke Farmhouse, Gillingham, Dorset

A rather more substantial granary than most in the area and in very good condition. It probably dates to the early 19th century and is built of brick (Flemish-bond) with a pitched slate roof. It has timber beams on saddle stones which raise it off the ground to protect the stored grain from damp and from rodents. It is octagonal in plan and has a plain plank door with a similar loft door above.
