Happisburgh Lighthouse, Happisburgh, Norfolk
This lighthouse was erected in 1791. It was one of a pair, of which the low light was demolished in 1883. It was made automatic in 1929. Many lighthouses are located on remote islands, but even those positioned on the mainland are often far from any other building.
