Hatfield House, Hatfield Park, Old Hatfield, Hertfordshire

This building is a fine example of early 17th century domestic architecture. It was built by Robert Cecil (first Earl of Salisbury) between 1608-12. He re-used materials from the adjacent Tudor (Old) Palace which he partly demolished to build this new house. It is one of the most important Jacobean mansions in England.
