HMS Victory, Portsmouth

This aerial view of the Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth shows HMS Victory in her permanent mooring. HMS Victory was Nelson's ship at the Battle of Trafalgar. She is now a major tourist attraction. The dock above her, which is covered over by a white building, houses the remains of the Mary Rose which was raised from the sea bed in 1982. The Mary Rose was built by Henry VIII and sank in Portsmouth Harbour. A new Mary Rose museum is due to open in 2012.
