Horn Hill Tunnel, North Entrance, Broadwindsor, Dorset

This tunnel entrance is dated 1832. It has a tablet with an inscription over the entrance: ¨The public are Permanently indebted for the erection of this TUNNEL to the zealous exertions of GILES RUSSEL of Beaminster, GENT. Begun August 1831, finished June 1832. M. Lane, Civil Engineer." The tunnel is 345 feet long and connects Broadwindsor with Beaminster.
