Langcliffe High Mill, Langcliffe, North Yorkshire

This mill was built in 1784-86 for George and William Clayton and R Walshman. It was designed as a machine cotton-spinning mill. The building of the Keighley-Kendal turnpike road in 1753 had made transport in the area much easier. This allowed new industries such as this one to flourish.
