Leicester South Fields College, Narborough Road, Leicester

This building was built as a Board School in 1900-1902. It was designed by Edward Burgess for the Leicester School Board. It was the last and the largest of the many schools designed by Edward Burgess. Board Schools were built by local School Boards (committees) formed after the 1870 Education Act. The act was designed to build more schools and provide an education for children who had not previously been able to attend school.
