Leyton Town Hall, Leyton, Greater London

The town hall is dated 1895 and was designed by John Johnson in an ornate Victorian classical style. The main block with the council chamber is on the corner of High Road Leyton and Adelaide Road. It is part of a complex of 3 adjoining buildings. They are built from red brick with decorative bands of white stone. There is a central Ionic porch to the taller block with a pediment and elaborate finials. This building replaced the earlier town hall that stood alongside. The building originally incorporated a technical college in a rear range
