Maltings and Kiln, Mistley, Essex

The maltings and kiln were built in 1896. During the mid to late Victorian period there were many partnerships in the Mistley Malting industry. This allowed a vast array of maltings to be constructed in the village. This included the works of Robert Free, who was a major innovator in the industry. The building now is disused, except for the top floor which is being used as offices.
