Mistley Towers, Mistley, Essex
These towers are all the remains of a parish church, built in 1735 by Robert Adam. In 1777 a tower was added at each end of the original building, and porticos and columns at the front and rear. The body of the church was demolished circa 1870 leaving only the towers standing. There is a memorial to Richard Rigby inside this tower. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010) and managed by Mistley Thorn Residents' Association. Find out more.
